Lengths and Proportions
The correct height of the curtain rail and the appropriate curtain length significantly shape the room. Long curtains and a higher mounted rail make ceilings appear taller and rooms feel more spacious. Shorter curtains look more formal, while extra long curtains create a relaxed, homely atmosphere.
How much substance?
The amount of fabric significantly determines the atmosphere in the room. As a rule, we recommend at least 2.5 times the track length so that linen curtains drape beautifully and fall softly. In the picture above, the white linen curtains are made with a 3-fold pleat.
Weight and light transmittance
Do you want a airy daytime curtain or more privacy? Linen with 85 gsm is very light and transparent. 165 gsm provides noticeably more privacy. For true blackout, we recommend double-layered linen curtains from 165 + 165 gsm.
