The correct height of the curtain rail and the appropriate curtain length significantly shape the room. Long curtains and a higher mounted rail make ceilings appear taller and rooms feel more spacious. Shorter curtains look more formal, while extra long curtains create a relaxed, homely atmosphere.
How much substance?
The amount of fabric significantly determines the atmosphere in the room. As a rule, we recommend at least 2 times the track length so that linen curtains drape beautifully and fall softly. In the picture above, the white linen curtains are made with a 3-fold pleat.
Weight and light transmittance
Do you want an airy daytime curtain or more privacy? Linen with 85 gsm is very light and transparent. 160 gsm provides noticeably more privacy. For true blackout, we recommend double-layered linen curtains from 160 + 160 gsm.
